Whew, it’s been a while, huh? As I mentioned in the blog portion of the last page I posted, I was going to be on a mini-hiatus due to vacations and an absolute surplus of freelance projects eating up all my time. That hiatus was supposed to be over in July but here we are in August and I’m only just getting my head above water. While hiatus-ing I pondered the idea of changing how I update the comic — abandoning the page per week model for a “chunkier” scene-based update schedule. The problem with that was planning out “release” dates for each update would then become a lot of work in itself and I would probably end up working more slowly than I do right now.
So, I’m sticking with the page per week model. I know most of my readers probably dip in and read chunks of the story at a time but I might as well allow for the few that read a page at a time to keep on reading the way they want to read it (and please keep doing so!)
However, I am taking advantage of this break to try to get ahead of myself and build a buffer of completed pages for the first time ever. This way I can actually have a chance at a real regular weekly schedule with a consistent release day and everything.
With that said, Nathan Sorry will return on Tuesday, August 23 and will continue to update every Tuesday from there on out (unless I get slammed again or I decide that Tuesday is not the best day for updates for some reason).
One of the things that has kept me busy was a 6 page “comic article” that will appear in the September issue (I think?) of Charlotte Magazine. A by-product of working on your own comic like I do is that occasionally someone comes along and wants to pay you to do one for them and as great as that is it winds up taking time away from the comic you are doing for yourself. But I’m really happy with how the Charlotte Magazine piece came out and I will link to it here when it comes out.
Thanks to everyone for continuing to read and for being patient with this long downtime I’ve had. I urge everyone to start following me on Google + if you’re on there because I will probably start posting some previews of new pages as I work on them there. There’s a fantastic comics and illustration community on there and it has turned out to be a great way for us artistic types to show off what we’re working on.
