Me and You and Everyone We Know: A »
Amy Adams was nominated for best supporting actress this year for Junebug and she more than deserves it. She is the life and heart of this film which is probably meant to be more about Madeline, the character played by Embeth Davidtz. Madeline is a Chicago art dealer who travels down to North Carolina (woo!) with her new husband to chase after an unsigned outsider artist. While she's there she meets her husband's family who lives nearby in this rural, bible belt, a world away from her usual surroundings and learns a bit about her husband who she obviously knew little about before marrying him.
Adams plays pregnant Ashely, who is also married into the family and is almost a different species from Madeline. Naive, hopeful, and innocent she develops an immediate adoration of educated, cosmopolitan Madeline whereas the rest of the family resents her interference.
