Comic books don't get much more fun than this. O'Malley in his first volume of new comic phenomenon, Scott Pilgrim, mixes Manga with video game logic to create a unique story about a carefree 23-year old who is in a rock band dating a high school girl until he falls in love with Ramona Flowers an Amazon.ca delivery girl who rollerblades into his dreams and then into his life. But to attain her he must defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends (that's where the game logic comes into play).
This book is cute, witty and captures a certain 20-something sensibility in a way that is very unique to our times. I'm looking forward to reading the next volume.
