King Kong: A

They probably could have shaved at least half an hour off of this and I have to say a few of the effects scenes in the middle looked too green-screened for me (plus Jackson's penchant for that blurry slow motion effect really annoys me), but otherwise this was a pretty amazing film. Exciting, scary, thrilling and suprisingly touching. Naomi Watts, as always, is perfect and deserves a lot of credit here for the best green-screen acting I've probably seen. There was a genuine connection between her and Kong, something the previous two versions of this movie could not pull off.
This was also a great New York movie. The scenes of 1930s New York were probably my favorite effects of the film. And I'm so glad that Jackson decided to stage the breath taking Empire State Building battle during the day so that the dizzying heights of the building could really be appreciated.
