It's getting late to do these end of the year lists but I still like to keep track. Music is hard for me to list in any sort of favorites order but so in no particular order (and mixing albums with individual songs) here's my best of '05:

The Woods - Sleater-Kinney
"Speed of Sound" - Cold Play
Illinois - Sufjan Stevens
"Gold Digger" - Kanye West
Twin Cinema - New Pornographers
"16 Military Wives" - The Decemberists

And a Wild Card nod to an album I don't actually own but have heard quite a bit of through Karen and have to give it a lot respect:
Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
