Shallow Hal: B- »
A dissappointing follow-up by Wes Andersen to Rushmore and The Royal Tennenbaums, two of my favorite films. Even the art direction, with the ode to '70s Jacque Cousteau films and the weird use of stop motion animation for the sea life is not as inspiring as I would have expected. Part of the problem is the ponderous pace of the adventure of Steve Zizzou (Bill Murray) is not offset with enough quirkiness like in the previous films.
Won't stop me from looking forward to Andersen's next film though.
