I actually don't think I've seen the orginal film though I think I should sometime. A team of raunchy, cursing little leaguers probably had more shock and humor value in the 70s whereas now it's only successful as lite summer comedy. Not as crudely hilarious as Billy Bob's last attempt at being a down and out drunkard in Bad Santa and not as brilliant and touching as Richard Linklater's last outing filming kids in School of Rock.
