The Final Solution: A Story of Detection

This is a densely written novella, by Michael Chabon, that takes place in Britain during WWII and is written in a way that harkens back to that era's style. It feels like a mid-century European detective novel (at least what I imagine one would read like since I never have). The prose can be a bit too artfully constructed though. To the point that it took me a lot of effort to follow the story at times.
It's a neat little detective novel though, revolving around a missing parrot who recites a series of mysterious numbers in German.
