Though not as addictively mind-opening as his previous book (one of my all time favorites) The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell tackles an interesting subject here - intuition and the ability to make snap decisions. Gladwell's signature style is to look at his subjects from a variety of interesting angles. He goes from a scientist who can tell within 3 minutes of listening to an arguement whether a couple will eventually divorce to Speed Dating to military war games to packaged goods marketers to the Amadou Diallo case and more. However, this is a pretty big subject covered by a fairly thin book. I feel like Gladwell could have explored even more examples of his premise and fleshed out Blink a little more. A-

I agree that the book was a hit or miss ... some analysis was excellent (eg diallo, coke, relationship) other parts quite contrived (eg tennis, statue, military).
book doesnt hold a candle to the tipping point.
hopefully his next is much better.
