A great week of comics. I loved everything I bought:

Vimanarama 1 I loved the beginning, but got a little unsure of this as it moved into the "weird" territory. The first couple of scenes though felt very different, very Bolllywood in comic form, with a lot of humor and character. I'm very confident that this is going to be a fun ride over the next two issues though. Ali, the hero, is a likeable character, even in his shallowness as he is constantly stuck on the fear of his arranged wife being ugly. B+

Legion of Super Heroes 1 & 2 I've never in my life read an LSH book but I loved this. Exactly what it should be. Light hearted, futuristic sci-fi with WB style teen characterization and dialogue. Mark Waid has really become a super star writer over the last couple of years. His work here actually reminds me of Grant Morrison in it's sci-fi humor. Like in the scene where Colossal Boy, who can grow to astounding heights, is annoyed because he wants to be called "Micro Boy" since he's actually from a race of giants and his super power is to shrink to 6 feet tall. Brilliant.

Walking Dead 15 This is just about the only serial form of entertainment I can think of where you honestly don't know who is going to make it through each installment. There were some surprising and frightening moments in this one as well as the usually good character development. This whole prison setting is a great scenario for this book. My enthusiasm has been renewed.

Ultimates 3 I really expected the trial of the Hulk to be an ongoing subplot for this whole series so I was surprised to see it wrapped up so quickly. But it was resolved very well. Though Banner has been a pretty unlikeable schlep in this series, I do enjoy the nerd-jock dynamic he has with the rest of the team. The others honestly didn't seem too overly upset about his plight.

Breach 2 This is a really weird series so far, hard to tell where exactly it's going, but that's good. I mostly enjoy the Marcos Martin artwork. There's some great imagery in this one, like the 2001-like red cham

Ultimate X-men Vol. 10 I've always hated Gambit. Never understood his appeal. The Ultimate version seems pretty much the same to me. Rogue has the potential to be a more interesting character in the Ultimate universe if they continue to develop her this way. She's kind of a cross between the Anna Paquin version and the regular Marvel Universe version. An okay story here. Not the best the series has been and certainly not the best Brian K. Vaughan has done, but it's enjoyable X-men fare. B
