Best Basset Hound movie ever! Though I wish he had more screen time, the unnamed Basset in this Anime stole the show. There were so many little perfectly rendered moments that were so familiar to me, especially having my own Basset sitting on my lap at the time.
Though I haven't seen it in a while now, I was completely enamored with the first Ghost in the Shell movie. Probably the first Anime film I ever saw. This sequel didn't seem as magical to me even though there were a number of beautiful scenes. Maybe because there was too much of a reliance on 3D animation. There's something about the mixture of 2D and 3D animation that more often than not draws too much attention to itself and here it took me out of the story too many times.
But the real question is: Did Morley find the animated Bassett convincing? Or did he complain of the lack of depth given the character?
