Not as funny as you would expect, figuring that this would be Will Ferrel unleashed, doing just the kind of character he wants to do. But there were a number of laugh out loud moments like the Anchorman gang war and one woman's reaction to the smell of the Panther musk cologne: "It smells like Big Foot's dick!"
Steve Carell seemed wasted here playing the idiot role. He could have been put to better use.

You are the 2nd person to recommend this movie highly.

I am working my way thru the 3rd season of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm and the 1st season of Arrested Development, but will try and check this out.

Regarding Anchorman, I totally agree with your assessment ... I thought it would have been overall much better. Although it did have several laugh out loud parts, I did not think that it was as good as Old School.
