This Week's Comics: 11/10

Identity Crisis #6 A big issue in this outstanding series. Big developments in both the murder mystery and the mind wiping plot. But there's still a lot to resolve it seems in the upcoming final issue. I can understand if DC is looking to set up some stories to carry over throughout their line in the near future, but I definitely expect to see some resolution to a lot of these plot threads that have been hanging. Who is the real killer? You know there's more to it than it being Ray Palmer. Will Batman find out about the mind wiping, being that his mind has also been wiped? How did Captain Boomerang's son gain super speed? Who actually slept with who there? What's the Calculator role in all this? And Dr. Light?

Walking Dead #12 The strongest issue, emotionally, in a while with this series. Hershel is an interesting character. He made a fatal mistake last issue in thinking that the zombies could be cured. Now he sends the travelling survivors out into the cold because their presence reminds him of the horror of the previous day (and of his mistake I'm sure). Oh yeah, and one of them is now "fucking" daughter. His ignorance has been infuriating but in a way you can understand the idea that his little world got a lot worse once they showed up. Though I could feel for him a bit I really felt for Lori. The horror of being pregnant during the zombie acopalypse and now being sent once again out to wander searching for food and shelter.
I've gotten very tired of the fast pace this book takes and it's penchant for introducing situations that only last for the length of an issue and it seems that it's now going to be locked into a new status quo after this issue as they have now found their Dawn of the Dead 'mall'. There's some interesting relationships building between these characters. Let's see some development.

Gotham Central #25 Though this series has so much potential and has been so excellent since # 1 I'm all out of enthusiasm for it so this may be my last issue. Especially knowing that Michael Lark will be leaving the series, I don't know if I could enjoy it without his inky, gritty depictions of Gotham.
This issue is basically a throwaway. A tie-in to the great Batman title crossover of 2004 that I know nothing about. The result of the "War Games" crossover is actually an interesting concept but one that this title has already been dealing with in past storylines. Batman tends to use the Gotham police force as pawns in his war on crime and they're understandably tired of it. We just get a poll of various opinions on the situation from different characters though and we watch a symbolically important contract job involving the removal of the Bat Signal from the roof of Gotham Central.
Seems like an appropriate spot for me to jump off this book.
